We have eight Union Learning Reps (ULRs) in Euston Tower who arrange and promote union learning for members in the workplace.
Learning Centre
With the support of Management our ULRs started a learning Centre in February 2009. The learning centre has successfully hosted several courses including Web Design, Arabic and Computer Courses Level 1 & 2. Around 200 colleagues have benefited from these courses. The ULRs are now aiming to hold further courses in Languages & CV Writing. The Learning Centre has also been helpful for Union Reps & Colleagues in other nearby HMRC Buildings.
With the help and support of everyone in HMRC Euston Tower the ULRs hope to keep the Learning Centre running for many years to come.
Book Club
The Branch Book Club in March 2011
The ULRs also organise and run a monthly Book Club for staff in Euston Tower.
The book club is a very popular facility with over 200 books to chose from.
It also provides members with an opportunity to discuss wider PCS issues with branch reps and gives us an opportunity to explain PCS and the branch to non-members.
